Hey guys, I just started a post on Reddit with my current haves and wants. If anyone wants to strike up a trade let me know or please be so kind as to spread this around.
I’m looking to get rid of New 52 Blue Beetle, the complete series of Ultimate Comics: Iron Man and Uncanny Avengers.
I’m looking for Spider-Men, All New X-Men, Avenging Spider-Man, Daredevil and Ultimate Comics Spider-Man.

”I’ve been talking about this quite a bit online, because there are fans who can’t wrap their mind around the fact this book is called X-Men. I sorta can’t wrap my mind around , that the absence of some alpha male somehow invalidates these six women’s identities as X-Men, identities that go back decades through continuity. As my editor told me early on, these women are X-Men. They just are, period, always have been. So we sometimes get accused of “segregation,” a truly ugly word, or whatever, but I truly feel that to call this book X-Women or something like that, only suggests that these characters are a subset, or a spinoff, or even just off to one side, when I think any X-Men reader would admit that these women have more than earned the honor of being called X-Men.
I’ll defend this all day long.”
So this isn’t the first time I’ve complained on here that my local comic shop forgets to pull certain comics for me constantly.
So if we’re getting a Superior Spider-Man Team Up series later this year then does that mean the end of Avenging Spider-Man? What would be the difference? I mean the only reason Avenging Spider-Man was so good was Peter’s dynamics between him and the team but now that it’s Otto… And I really used to love Avenging Spider-Man. And I’ll probably subscribe to the Team Up or try it out at least but again… like… why? How long is this gonna go on anyway? It’s getting really offensive and annoying, Peter’s spirit having to stand around and watch a villain use his own name to do terrible things and ruin his life… Can this be over now?
Alright, off to drop like… $200 on all the comics I’ve missed since mid January.
And since Blue Beetle was cancelled I am now subscribed to 13 Marvel titles. DC drops down to 1. Awkward.
Speaking of… Anyone reading Threshold? It’s like only 4 comics in right? Can I get some recommendations? How’s Jaime’s involvement? Thanks!
I think the last time I bought comics was some time in February. I had called twice between then and now about the chances of them emptying my subscription box and stuff and one girl I talked to called me by name, asked how I was and if I was okay since she hadn’t seen me in a while. She told me that they wouldn’t do that unless I disappeared for “like, six months”. So I stopped worrying.
But today for some reason I had this feeling like I should call before tomorrow. I did and an employee couldn’t even find my sub number. She ended up finding all of my comics in the ‘accounts to delete’ box. I was in the system to be cleared out for tomorrow.
Holy crap.
I’m gonna have to take a bunch of cash and all my punch cards in tomorrow and buy the whole thing.
Shouldn’t they have maybe called me if they were going to just throw me away as a subscriber soon? I would think they’d give me a chance to come in and still buy all these old comics that are not likely to be sold when they’re 2-4 issues old. I’m kind of disappointed. I understand that it’s business but why not contact me? They have my information.
Last night I had a table with two boys ages 10 and 13. They had comics at the table and I geeked out as their server. I just said “we’ll have to talk later” and tried not to bother them during their family’s meal too much…
But later I had to ask what titles they were reading and asked if they read Amazing Spider-Man. The 10 year old corrects me by calling it “The New Death of Spider-Man” and then both brothers at the same time asked me if I’ve read Superior. “Yes! What do you think about what they’re doing with Peter?”
The 13 year old replies, “Slott’s just fuckin’ with us…”
I DIED.
So how many of you are going to pull Superior Spider-Man and how many of you are purposefully not going to purchase it? And why?

Peter: C’mon, Grampa Steve…tell us a story. When the whole country is against you…when it’s all bearing down on you like some ten-ton weight, and you don’t know your heart anymore sometimes - how does someone like you deal with it? Doesn’t matter what the press says. Doesn’t matter what the politicians or the mobs say. Doesn’t matter if the whole country decides that something wrong is something right. This nation was founded on one principal above all else: the requirement that we stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or the consequences. When the mob and the press and the whole world tell you to move, your job is to plant yourself like a tree beside the river of truth, and tell the whole world - “No, you move.”
Peter: Can I, like, carry your books to school? For the rest of my life?
