((This wasn’t supposed to happen. It’s Arra’s fault. Red vs Blue AU. First time writing Matt so bear with me, this is practice. The rule is anything posted after 3 am you can’t judge me for.))
“He never lets me have the sniper rifle.”
A calloused hand threaded through his fluffy brunette locks as Peter whined about their teammate. Who, in turn, pinched the skin of the smallest boy’s waist in retaliation for the complaint. Peter yelped, burying his face in Matt’s collar. “See! This is harassment and unfair.”
“Have you been trained in long distance shooting?” Matt asked slowly. Ever the pragmatist of the group. Even if he swatted Wade’s hand away from Peter’s hip to prevent another petty attack, mostly because he liked the kid and tended to take his side more than Wade’s.
“Well, no, but he doesn’t even let me try! I could totally spy on the Blues but he just wants to make these elaborate plans to kill them without the sniper. Which means I should totally get it.” It came out as more of a ramble than a concise rant, but Peter ended it with a pointed huff and ignored the way that Wade grinned against the small of his back.
He felt the former merc’s mouth between his shoulder blades and tried his hardest not to shiver. It didn’t work. “Pete is shit at shooting, Matty. If we’re both in agreement that we like this kid, then we should put a child safety lock on the sniper for jailbait here.”
